Who
should attend TRS workshops
Do
both members of the couple need to attend?
Yes, the workshop is designed for simultaneous participation by both members
of the couple. In this way, you both integrate the concepts and tools
learned and you have opportunities to practice skills together in a comfortable
atmosphere where you can ask for assistance or clarification if necessary.
Only if both partners experience the workshop and learn the skills can
there be a significant and immediate change in the relationship and the
potential for ongoing practice and results!
Are
the workshops only for couples having problems?
No, the workshops can also be used by couples seeking to increase the
depth and intentionality of their love and commitment, or those wishing
to regain that “in love” feeling and the spirit of fun and
friendship that marked their early years together.
Are
there times when it’s already too late for a couple to profit from
the workshop?
If one or both partners have already moved on, leaving the relationship
behind, the relationship is unlikely to be renewed by the workshop. If
one or both partners are unwilling or uninterested in working to reclaim
their relationship, participating in the workshop is unlikely to change
that. But, if you and your partner still care about each other and the
relationship and are willing to exert the effort necessary to fully participate
in the workshop, you’ll no doubt notice an immediate difference
in how the two of you are together. Continuing to use the tools you learn
will extend that difference into the months and years ahead.

The
benefits of TRS workshops
What
makes these workshops different from others?
TRS workshops are based on the work of Harville Hendrix, founder of Imago
Relationship Therapy and author of the best selling book, "Getting
the Love You Want". This internationally known and accepted approach
to transforming relationships is renowned for its effectiveness, the safe
and secure environment it creates for experiential learning and the practical
tools it provides for enhancing communication and deepening relationships
for the future. Imago Relationship Therapy for couples is based upon the
effect that our earliest experiences of love as children have on our selection
of and reaction to our partner.
Which
is more helpful? Individual couple therapy? A couples workshop?
While both approaches have real benefits for couples, the couples workshop
has some advantages:
• It provides the equivalent of 6 months of couples therapy/coaching
in one 20-hour weekend.
• It expedites results by using an intensive immersion experience
to learn and practice the tools that will immediately begin to make a
difference in your lives.
• It offers the advantage of learning from other couples like yourselves
and seeing that you and your partner are not alone in the issues you face.

About
TRS workshops
Why
is the workshop so long?
The weekend workshop is designed to provide an intensive experience that
will not only provide you with an immediate lift for your relationship,
but also the tools to continue building and maintaining a deeply loving
and intentional relationship for the life ahead.
What do you do for 20 hours?
The workshop consists of an ever-changing array of activities to keep
it interesting and to provide different approaches for learning key concepts.
These include: watching and discussing specific elements of videos, short
lectures, demonstrations, music, guided imagery and romanticizing and
communication exercises. These are alternated with opportunities for each
couple to have private time together to practice what they’ve just
learned using issues, feelings and situations that are real for them.
There are also voluntary opportunities for sharing insights and experiences
for those interested in doing so.
Will
meals be served during the workshop?
Coffee, beverages and snacks will be available for morning and afternoon
breaks. Lunch on both Saturday and Sunday are the responsibility of the
couple. The couple can bring their own lunch, or eat at a nearby restaurant.
A list of available restaurants will be provided. Ideally, this time will
be used for continuing the discussions of the morning.
How
does the price of the workshop compare to the cost of couples therapy?
The general charge for couples therapy is $115 per session. At this rate,
the workshop would cost $2300. Instead, each couple pays $650 for the
20-hour weekend.
Is
there any kind of follow-up activity available after the workshop?
Yes, workshop “graduates” can participate in Couples Follow-up
Sessions which consist of 4-6 couples getting together with the facilitator
for a 3-hour period every month or two to refresh and refine their skills
in ways that fit their relationships and their lives. The cost is $100
per session. Couples coaching via phone is another follow-up option.
